On Marconi's Tracks

March 8th, 2009
Porretta Terme-Castelluccio (Bologna)

ON MARCONI'S TRACKS
Organised by Porretta Terme Town Hall with the Upper Rhine C.A.I. (Italian Alpine Club) Station and the Upper Rhine Valley Research Group, the guided hike from Porretta Terme to Castelluccio has opened the hiking season with a walk along the C.A.I. path nr 107, which is known as the “Marconian Path” since it goes through the places where Marconi’s family came from.

Headed by Giulio Mucci, the hike started from Porretta and stopped at Cà di Janni, Le Croci, Casa Marsili, Gaggiano, Castelluccio.

A short break at Le Croci, birth-place of Giuseppe Marconi, Guglielmo’s father, where the Capugnano Pro Loco (Local Organisation) served some refreshments.

Lunch at the Pro Loco “Il Faggio” premises in Castelluccio, where Barbara Valotti gave a conference on Marconi and the places where his family came from.
