The WiFi Mountain project, carried out by the Marconi Foundation and financed by the Monte di Bologna e Ravenna Foundation, started in 2009 with the aim of improving the conditions of citizens and enterprises living in the territory of the Bolognese mountains. The project has created a telecommunication infrastructure and installed repeaters able to transmit wireless signals throughout the area, allowing the access to a fast internet connection. During these years the number of territories connected to the Internet through this project has grown a lot, helping them overcome their previous digital divide. On Friday, October 31, at 10.30am, the lecture hall of the High School “Caduti della Direttissima” (via Toscana 21, Castiglione dei Pepoli) will host a conference to analyze the result of these years of activities, listen to the administrators of all the territories involved, and discuss other topics such as the recent acquisition of the telecommunication network by Lepida Spa, and the future developments and possibilities of WiFi Mountain. programme
