Pope Francis, Marconist of the 21st Century

Each year from 2005, the Marconi Foundation awards the “Marconist of the 21^st century” title to personalities who have distinguished themselves by ideally continuing Marconi’s work, whose invention was intended - as he himself declared – to “bring people closer”.

For the coming year the ideal and highest candidate chosen among all will be the Holy Pope.

Pope Francis, whose mandate has been characterized by the firm intention to build bridges among peoples and cultures, has been recently awarded in front of the St. Peter’s Basilica, with great honor to the Marconi Foundation and the memory of Guglielmo Marconi.
