The main activities carried out in this area of research regard:

• evaluation of the served areas and planning of the use of spectral resources starting with the results of the prediction software

• application of automatic optimisation techniques to the positioning of radio-base stations and to the channel assignment;

• evaluation of interference reduction techniques, including implementation of Frequency Hopping, use of directive antennas, and use of adaptive or ‘smart’ antennas.
