Marconi's Rays

August 9th-September 27th, 2009

on Sundays, 10.30am -7.30pm

A bicycle tour and a travelling show on Marconi’s “waves”.
Round trip from Bologna to Pontecchio Marconi, to forget about pollution and confusion and dive into the nature of the Talon park, cycling on its lanes along the Bolognese waterways.
An unusual tour among nature, music, theatre, dance, history and science.
From the house where the great scientist was born in via IV novembre, in the heart of Bologna, through the enchanting Palazzo de’ Rossi at Villa Griffone in Pontecchio, the mansion where Marconi carried out his first discoveries and where he’s buried with his wife, to the Mille Voci… Mille Suoni Museum in Bologna.
An entire day devoted to culture and movement, for people of any age who wanted to dive into the natural beauties of the Bolognese territory and listen to the extraordinary music of Theremin.

David Sarnoffsarnoff

Marconi was the creator of the present day civilization of the radio. All of those who, with spirit of initiative and perseverance, have brought us to the present stage of development have built on the foundations laid by Marconi. Everyone considered him the tutelary genius of their work.
