Starting from the example of Guglielmo Marconi and his pioneering work, the seminar will analyze how emerging technologies affect the security landscape and consequently the world geo-politics. The world in which we live is highly Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous (VUCA) and new technologies are radically changing societies and affecting the global power balance. From 5G to space, from Unmanned Systems to Artificial Intelligence, innovation is at the core of national and international strategies. But are the people behind these technologies (scientists, engineers, business persons, etc.) aware of and ready to handle the impact that any engineering choice is making to the world’s future?
